Resumen

La teoría del conflicto ha sido una herramienta fundamental en las ciencias sociales para comprender las dinámicas de poder, desigualdad y transformación de la cultura de paz. Ha evolucionado hacia enfoques más complejos que integran dimensiones estructurales, culturales y psicosociales. El presente artículo tiene como objetivo analizar la evolución conceptual de la teoría del conflicto, destacando las contribuciones de autores clásicos y contemporáneos, así como sus aplicaciones prácticas en la resolución de disputas sociales. Se utilizó una metodología cualitativa documental empleando una revisión sistemática de literatura bajo directrices PRISMA, mediante un enfoque crítico y estructuralista. Los resultados revelan tres fases cruciales en el desarrollo teórico: fundacional, estructural-funcionalista y contemporánea. Se identifican tensiones entre enfoques dialécticos y funcionalistas, así como una creciente integración con estudios de paz, mediación y justicia restaurativa. Se concluye que la evolución de la teoría del conflicto nos ha permitido distinguir que el conflicto es parte de la dinámica social, convirtiéndose en herramienta útil para entender y cambiar las relaciones sociales en situaciones de desigualdad, violencia y exclusión. Esta revisión ofrece una base sólida para futuras investigaciones en conflictología y construcción de paz.
