The journal Memoria investigaciones en ingeniería considers that ethics in the editorial process is essential to maintain the quality and integrity of the texts resulting from research. For this reason, it is governed by the principles of transparency and good practice in academic publications established by the Committee on Publication Ethics, COPE http://publicationethics.org/ and has drawn up these guidelines, which are described below:
Authors' commitment:
Authors agree to follow the following ethical guidelines:
Declaration of authorship and contribution
Texts submitted to the journal must be original, must not be committed to another publication and their authors must be in full possession of the publication rights. By sending the originals to the editor, the author(s) of the contribution(s) assign(s) to Memoria investigaciones en ingeniería the reproduction rights of the accepted text(s). At the same time, cases of co-authorship must be expressly stated, as well as cases in which the author received contributions, suggestions or comments from third parties.
Authors should mention the contribution of the research developed in the text according to the CRediT taxonomy.
The journal respects the order of appearance of authors in the publication as submitted by the authors in the text.
All authors should be informed of the current status of an article submitted for publication, including that all authors have copies of reviewers' comments and a copy of the published version.

Originality and accuracy of data
The authors assure that the content of the submitted text is original and unpublished and that they are in full possession of the publication rights. The authors confirm the veracity of the data presented in the text and that they have not been plagiarised, invented, manipulated or distorted.
Plagiarism
The texts will be passed through a Turnitin plagiarism detection system to detect their originality. Plagiarism consists of using a phrase or idea from another person without acknowledging authorship. In texts where plagiarism is detected either by using parts of a text or paraphrasing an idea, without mentioning the authorship, the author will be notified by e-mail. Plagiarism, self-plagiarism (recycling of texts without attribution), redundant (duplicate) publication are considered improper practices in a scientific publication and will be notified to the author by e-mail.
Redundant (duplicate) publication is when the same article is published in 2 or more journals, with a different title, with a change in the order of authors or when citations are removed from articles in the original publication. Redundant publication is allowed when it is minimal in the editor's judgement, e.g. when the same method is used or a new analysis is made, and as long as the secondary text cites the original source.
When a redundant publication is detected, the editor contacts the author for clarification and, where appropriate, action.

The author should note that consent to participate in research or to undergo treatment is not the same as consent to publish personal data, images or quotations.
