About the Journal

Revista de Derecho is a scientific publication of the Faculty of Law of the Universidad de Montevideo, which is published every six months in July and December of each year.  It is aimed at a specialised public and its objective is to contribute to the development of legal knowledge.

Since 2002 it has been published regularly, including the following sections: message from the Dean or the Director, doctrinal articles, lectures and master classes, annotated jurisprudence, information from the Faculty, Masters theses, student monographs, and notes from books and journals.

The texts published in the Revista de Derecho are always original and unpublished. The journal accepts scientific contributions from specialists from various national and foreign academic institutions, which are submitted to peer review, under the double-blind refereeing system. The texts are published in Spanish and English.

Open Access Policy:

The Revista de Derecho provides immediate and free access to all the contents of this electronic edition and permitting any user to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose, under a Creative Commons Atribución 4.0 Internacional (CC BY 4.0).

The full text of all contents is available free of charge and open access without delay. No embargo period. Users are not required to register to read the content.

Preservation policy:

In order to guarantee the preservation of its content in open access over time, the journal carries out the following procedures:

1) Periodically, the software (Open Journal System) and its contents are backed up on the servers of the Universidad de Montevideo.

2) The journal uses a DOI in each article uploaded for the identification and unequivocal location of the document.

3) Articles are deposited in pdf and html formats, both of which are widely used.

4) All the content of the journal is preserved in the cloud.
