Abstract

The Institutional Communication Secretariat is a body within the Presidency of Uruguay, whose main objective is to communicate relevant information to society about the actions of the Government and implement the communication policy of the Executive Power. In the following article the reader will find a study of the body, which analyzes its antecedents, legal nature and tasks, as well as recent disputes which have motivated pronouncements at the judicial and the administrative level. For this, the analysis of national regulations, doctrine and jurisprudence will be used while mentioning comparative law. The purpose of the following work is to delimit the field of action of the Secretariat of Institutional Communication, in order to respect the rights and constitutional provisions on which the Nation is built.
