Filosofía, belleza funcional y sentir cotidiano en el arte conmemorativo

Resumo

Denuncia-se que a filosofia da arte não tem prestado suficiente atenção quer à funcionalidade que define muitas obras, quer a géneros como a arte comemorativa, quer às emoções que geram: um sentimento quotidiano considerado impróprio como resposta à arte. Argumenta-se que o conceito filosófico (autónomo) de arte impede isso. O recente debate sobre a necessidade de valorizar uma «beleza funcional» insiste neste ponto. No entanto, as análises de Arthur Danto sobre a arte comemorativa permitem conciliar um conceito filosófico de arte com a sua possível funcionalidade e com a afetividade que ela acorda nas pessoas comuns.
