Abstract

Along four decades, students and teachers of Polytechnic of Minors in San Bernardo, Chile, lived a peculiar experience of reeducation, under a system of internship, which was sustained by the system of protection of minors created in 1928. In this article we review the principles that were proposed to apply and the experience that was built there, including successive crises and restructuring processes. The intervention of different
actors revealed the relations of cooperation and conflict that took place inside, as well as a strong identity that emerged among the inmates.
