Abstract

The design of vertical formworks depends on the maximum lateral pressure exerted by fresh concrete for dimensioning the panels and the time needed for use it. In this work, the experimental models to predict the maximum lateral pressure exerted by the self-compacting concrete (SCC) on vertical formwork are described. On the other hand, the minimum demoulding times proposed by different normatives and different researches in the literature are described. Finally, a formwork removal method based on the ASTM 403 standard is developed and experimental tests were carried out in Uruguay for the validation of the presented method.
