The teaching of writing and the humanities moves between two waters: the challenges derived from the current technological context and the need to recover its place in the integral education of university students.
Are the humanities or the teaching of the humanities at university in danger? The success of great book courses launched by different universities around the world, digital humanities and writing workshops are facing these challenges. The growing interest in the Liberal Arts in the new generations shows the necessity of their presence for intellectual formation and for life.
For this reason, the "Studies" section of the journal Humanities proposes a monograph on "Teaching to read and write: the humanities in the 21st century".
Some of the topics proposed for the reception of papers are:
- Challenges and opportunities in humanities teaching (use of technology, learning problems, etc.).
- Methodologies and cases that get the attention of students in humanistic subjects.
- Teaching writing and teaching experiences.
- Innovative teaching experiences in learning to write.
- Cases that address the formative dimension of reading great books with today's students.
- Reflection on how to introduce critical thinking in the classroom.
- Analysis of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the teaching of the humanities.
