Thomistic studies have experienced an extraordinary renaissance during the last century. Undeniable proof of this are the numerous monographs and scientific articles, of the highest academic level, which appear regularly in all parts of the world and in the most diverse languages.
The Studies section of the journal Humanities of the University of Montevideo, with the intention of echoing this intellectual movement and in order to remember the 750th anniversary of the death of Thomas Aquinas, proposes a monographic issue dedicated to the philosophical and theological thought of Saint Thomas.
We welcome papers in any area of the philosophical and theological thought of St Thomas, but preference will be given to papers that (i) highlight the topicality of Thomas Aquinas' ideas and doctrines, (ii) explore lines of research, inspired by his thought, that allow us to address in a novel way particularly pressing problems of today's world, and/or (iii) attempt to establish a fruitful and enriching dialogue between his thought and the dominant currents of contemporary philosophical and theological thought.
Keywords: Thomas Aquinas, Thomism, Scholasticism, Neo-Scholasticism, Philosophy, Theology.
The deadline for submissions is: 30 April 2024
Texts may be submitted in Spanish, English and Portuguese.
